Gilani Saffron Rice Pudding (Sholezard)
Shelleh Zard is one of the traditional Iranian desserts whose yellow color comes from saffron and its aroma comes from cardamom and rose water. This delicious dessert is prepared from a combination of rice, sugar, saffron, rose water and cardamom and is mostly consumed in religious ceremonies, especially in the holy month of Ramadan. Cinnamon is also its fragrant seasoning and is poured over it to decorate.
